SAFETY & TRAINING
From the top down, Irby provides the highest level of training and implements processes to uphold some of the most stringent standards in the business.
These are integral and apparent on every project we undertake—in the field and in the office. There’s a natural alignment between our family-focused environment and safety practices. These processes and practices are how we work every day to keep our work family, our fellow “brothers and sisters,” out of harm’s way.
SAFETY
Irby Construction is committed to the health and safety of its employees, customers, contractors and communities. Providing and maintaining a safe work environment is a top priority. At Irby, safety takes precedence over all business pursuits and practices. The company is dedicated to continuously improving our safety practices and policies.
Incorporating proactive safety management systems and occupational health processes to mitigate and eliminate accidents and injuries is our safety mission. To achieve this mission, Irby creates a working environment that places the highest value on the health and welfare of the employee, customer, client and community, and operates in a way that preserves and protects the environment. These objectives empower Irby employees to embrace a standard of safety excellence.

TRAINING
We employ the latest in video training and interactive computer technology to keep our employees continuously updated on evolving techniques, procedures, and equipment. Irby Construction utilizes Northwest Lineman College’s (NLC) apprenticeship program exclusively for all apprentices. A Quanta Services company, NLC is the electric power industry’s largest educational and training institution. It is also known as the leading resource for training across a lineman’s complete work-life span from apprenticeship to experienced linemen.
The Apprenticeship Program is a four-year educational curriculum providing the related instruction component of apprenticeship for Irby employees. A major component of our training is thorough attention to safety, ensuring that jobs are performed using the proper equipment and following correct procedures. Our stringent drug-testing policy guarantees that each worker can have total confidence in his fellow workers. Because our work is often performed in hazardous, challenging settings, such confidence is absolutely essential. Safety Professionals from Irby’s Safety Department regularly visit the job sites for job site observations and to provide safety training. By continually fine-tuning the skills of our employees, we provide our customers with the finest workforce available.
