In January 2007, a severe ice storm impacted the Tulsa Metropolitan Area (“TMA”) leaving more than 200,000 homes without power. The affected infrastructure included transmission lines owned and operated by the Grand River Dam Authority (“GRDA”), a state-owned electric utility deriving hydroelectric power from the Grand River Waterway. The GDRA contracted Irby to perform emergency restoration works in multiple TMA locations and power was restored within days.
